They made a 6 and a 7 leaf for the New Yorker. The 7 leaf is a little stronger so as long as you replace both sides you can change to the 7 leaf from your existing 6 leaf.
I have a ‘73 New Yorker Brougham with 6 leafs on each side. Is your 7 leaf a match? Is it a better/worse/same rid 1965 - 1973 Most full size Dodge, Plymouth and Chrysler rear leaf spring, 7 leaf
